PV Awarded Best Small City in Latin America

Puerto Vallarta’s natural charm, the hospitality of its people, and its vibrant cultural scene have once again placed it on the global map. In the 2025 edition of the Readers’ Choice Awards from the renowned publication Condé Nast Traveler, our destination was honored as the Best Small City in Latin America and secured the second position globally, only behind Victoria, Canada.
This recognition, resulting from over 757,000 votes cast by international travelers, reaffirms Puerto Vallarta as the most Mexican beach destination and a global benchmark for hospitality, culture, and natural beauty. Since its founding, the city has successfully balanced tradition with modernity, offering authentic experiences that appeal to both national and foreign visitors.
With 433 lodging establishments and over 26,000 rooms available, the city offers options for every type of traveler, from luxury resorts to charming boutique hotels. This is complemented by its excellent air connectivity, boasting 14 domestic and 42 international routes, linking it to major urban centers across the Americas and the world.
From January to August 2025, Puerto Vallarta welcomed over six million visitors, generating an economic impact exceeding 26 billion pesos. Adding to this, 96 cruise ships arrived at the port, bringing more than 543,000 cruise passengers who contributed over 513 million pesos in revenue.
Since 1987, the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards have recognized the best cities, destinations, hotels, and experiences on the planet, based directly on the voice of travelers. In this edition, Puerto Vallarta surpassed emblematic destinations like Florence, Lucerne, Galway, and San Sebastián, which reflects the strength of tourism in Jalisco and the authenticity of its offerings.
