PV Airport to Operate Up to 54 Routes in the Fall-Winter 2025–2026 Season

Puerto Vallarta is preparing to enjoy one of its most dynamic high seasons yet. With cutting-edge infrastructure, world-class service, and continuous expansion, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport will operate up to 54 routes and over one thousand weekly flights during the Fall-Winter 2025–2026 season, reaffirming its role as one of Mexico’s most active and strategically connected airports.
The announcement was made by Omar Gildardo Torres Grajeda, administrator of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, during the 2025 Consultative Commission session. He shared that the terminal expects a 15 percent increase in flight operations, which forecasts a strong close to the year and further growth for the destination.
Currently ranked as the second most active airport on the Mexican Pacific coast for international traffic, Puerto Vallarta continues to strengthen its position as a tourism and economic engine for the region. In 2024, the terminal connected 6.8 million passengers with the beaches of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, and by the end of October 2025, it had already registered 5.6 million travelers, an increase of 1.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
The airport is now consolidating its position as the fifth with the highest international connectivity in Mexico, operating 23 routes to the United States, 15 to Canada, and an increasingly robust network of domestic connections. These figures reflect not only the destination’s global appeal but also the confidence that airlines continue to place in Puerto Vallarta as a growing market.
“The growth of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has been outstanding, and we are ready for the next stage of expansion,” stated Torres Grajeda. “We will close 2025 with the incorporation of 12 new routes, four of which will begin operations soon. This reflects both travelers’ enthusiasm for the destination and the continuous interest of airlines in the Mexican Pacific.”
Meanwhile, the new terminal building, which will double the airport’s operational capacity, is advancing steadily, with 56 percent of the project completed. The design integrates renewable energy, optimized water management, and native landscaping—hallmarks of the airport’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
With these advancements, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport solidifies its position as a benchmark for efficient operation, orderly expansion, and strategic connectivity, strengthening its role as a key link between Mexico’s Pacific coast and the world.
